Academy Alumni Retain Eagle Cup!

 

Academy Alumni Paige F., Diamond S., Kira B., Megan O., Amanda T., Andrea E., Misha S. and guest player Nicole D., members of the North Mississauga Panthers G92 team, successfully defended the Championship at the 2006 Erin Mills Eagle Cup after defeating Dixie 2-0 in the Championship game.

 

In the preliminary round, the Panthers defeated Erin Mills B 2-1, tied Caledon 0-0 and lost to Dixie 2-0 before defeating the Erin Mills A team 3-1 on penalties after a 0-0 tie in an epic semi-final game.

 

Congratulations to Paige, Diamond, Kira, Megan, Amanda, Andrea, Misha, Nicole, the coaches and the entire Panthers team on becoming Eagle Cup Champions for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumnus Wins East York Fall Fest Championship!

 

Academy Alumnus Caitlin R., a member of the Erin Mills Girls Select U13 A team, won the 2006 East York Fall Fest Tournament, defeating Brams United 2-0 in the final.

 

In the round-robin the Eagles defeated North Mississauga 3-0, lost to Brams United 2-0 and tied Dixie 0-0, qualifying for the semi-finals where they defeated Newmarket 1-0 to set up a rematch in the final against Brams.

 

Congratulations to Caitlin on winning the East York Fall Fest Tournament Championship for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumnus Selected To Peel-Halton District Team!

 

The Academy is extremely proud to announce that Academy Alumni Nicole W. is moving forward in the ID selection process for the Provincial Team. Nicole, a member of the Georgetown Mustangs 1993 team, was selected to the 2006 Peel-Halton District team and participated in the recently concluded Region 2 Regional ID camp held on September 16 and 17, 2006.

 

Nicole has been training at the Academy since 2005 and has worked extremely hard to reach her current level of success.

 

All of the Academy staff, alumni and current trainees are extremely proud to wish Nicole continued success in the next phase of the Provincial ID selection process.

 

 

Academy Alumni Wins Albert Campbell Tournament Championship!

 

The Academy trained Erin Mills G92 Select team, featuring Academy Alumni Lindsay F. , Arielle P., Melissa S., Nadia M. and Lauren B., won the championship at the Albert Campbell Tournament hosted by the Scarborough Soccer Association in the Girls U-14 division for 2006, winning the Championship with a 2-0 victory over Dixie.

 

In the round-robin, the Eagles defeated Dixie 1-0, Brams United 1-0 and Pickering 3-0 before defeating Scarborough United 2-0 in the semi-final to advance to the final against Dixie. In 5 tournament games, the Eagles also did not concede any goals; a very impressive performance by everyone.

Academy Alumnus Win League Cup Championship!

 

Academy Alumnus Samantha K., a member of the Dixie Gladiators 1992 team, won the 2006 SRSL Premier Division League Cup Championship after defeating the Waterloo Hawks in the Cup final 2-0.

Academy Alumnus Accepted At IMG Academies!

 

Academy Alumnus Madison S. has been accepted into the prestigious IMG Academies program in Bradenton, Florida. Madison left Toronto in early September to live and train at The Soccer Academy at IMG Academies, which provides high level training dedicated to total player development, offering one of the most comprehensive programs in the US.

 

While training at IMG, Madison will also be starting her high school academic career at the on-site PendletonAcademy, one of the most respected athletic-integrated academic schools in the US.

 

The Academy Staff wish Madison continued success at the IMG Academies and all of the Academy Staff and trainees are proud of her accomplishments.

 

 

Academy Alumni Win Premier Division Championship!

 

Academy Alumni Daniella L., Evelyn E., Ashley S., Danielle A. and Veronica P., members of the Erin Mills Eagles 1993 B team, won the 2006 SRSL Premier Division League Championship, edging out Mt. Hamilton and Brams United Blast for the title.

Academy Alumni Finalists In League Cup!

 

Academy Alumni Daniella L., Evelyn E., Ashley S., Danielle A. and Veronica P., members of the Erin Mills Eagles 1993 B team, finished as runners-up in the 2006 SRSL Premier Division League Cup Championship, narrowly losing to Mt. Hamilton in the Championship game.

Academy Alumni Champions at the Kickin' In The Capital Tournament In Ottawa!

 

Academy Alumni Jocelyn P. and Vanessa O., both members of the North Mississauga Panthers U13 B team, won the Championship at the 2006 Kickin' in the Capital Tournament for Girls, hosted by the Ottawa Royals Soccer club, defeating Nepean in the final 1-0.

 

In the preliminary round, the Panthers defeated Cumberland, Ottawa and Nepean by a combined score of 7-0. In the semi-final round, the Panthers played the host Ottawa Royals team again and this time the game went to a sudden death penalty shoot-out. The Panthers prevailed to set up the final against Nepean.

 

Congratulations to Jocelyn, Vanessa, the Panthers players and coaches on becoming Kickin' in the Capital Tournament Champions for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumni Finalists In North Mississauga!

 

The Academy trained Erin Mills G92 Select team, featuring Academy Alumni Lindsay F., Arielle P., Melissa S., Nadia M. and Lauren B., finished as runner-up at the North Mississauga All-Star Tournament in the Girls U-14 division for 2006, losing a close game in the final 1-0 to the North Mississauga U14 Select team.

 

In the round-robin, the Eagles defeated North Toronto 4-1, North Mississauga U13 1-0 and North Mississauga U14 1-0 to move on to a rematch in the final against North Mississauga.

Academy Alumnus Wins Alberta Provincial Championship!

 

Academy Alumnus Brittany B., a member of the Victoria S.C. G92 team based in Edmonton, Alberta, captured the Alberta Provincial Championship for 2006 and earned the right to represent Alberta at the Canadian National Club Championships (The Tide Cup) being held in Toronto from October 4-9 2006.

 

The Academy Staff and members are proud to wish Brittany and her team mate’s success in their quest to win the 2006 Canadian National Club Championship.

 

 

Academy Alumni Wins Stratford Festival Cup Championship!

 

The Academy trained Erin Mills G92 Select team, featuring Academy Alumni Lindsay F., Arielle P., Melissa S., Nadia M. and Lauren B., won the championship at the Stratford Festival Cup Tournament hosted by the Stratford Youth Soccer Club in the Girls U-14 division for 2006, winning an exciting final in the second overtime period 1-0 over the Nor'West Optimist Rebels.

 

In the round-robin, the Eagles beat Stratford 3-0, Southwest Hurricanes 1-0 and tied the London United Thunder 1-1 before defeating Brantford 2-0 in the semi-final to advance to the final against Nor'West.

 

Congratulations to Lindsay, Arielle, Melissa, Nadia, Lauren and the rest of the Eagles players and coaches for winning the Stratford Festival Cup Championship for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumnus Wins Mississauga All-Star Championship!

 

Academy Alumnus Caitlin R., a member of the Erin Mills Girls Select U13 A team, won the 2006 Mississauga All-Star Tournament, defeating Dixie 1-0 in the second OT period in the final.

 

In the round-robin the Eagles defeated Huntsville 7-0, Newmarket 2-0 and tied Dixie 1-1, qualifying for the semi-finals where they defeated their sister team, the Erin Mills Select B team, 1-0 to set up a rematch in the final against Dixie.

 

Congratulations to Caitlin on winning the Mississauga All-Star Tournament Championship for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumni At The National All-Star Championship 2006!

 

The RedDevilsAcademy is pleased to announce that Academy Alumni Brittany B. and Vicky C-P. represented their respective Provincial teams with distinction at the recently concluded National All-Star Championships held in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Vicky, representing Ontario, won the Gold Medal while Brittany, representing Alberta, won the Bronze Medal.

 

The All-Star Championships represents the first identification opportunity for players to be selected to train as part of the NationalTrainingCenter program for the Canadian National teams.

 

The Academy is very proud to wish Brittany and Vicky continued success as they await the selection process for the NTC training program. All of your fellow Academy trainees are very proud of your accomplishments.

 

 

Academy Alumnus shines at Provincial Rocky Mountain Cup!

 

The RedDevilsAcademy is pleased to announce that Academy Alumnus Vicky C-P., after being called up due to an injury, had an outstanding tournament in the recently concluded U15 Rocky Mountain Cup Provincial tournament in St. Albert, Alberta.

 

In the first game of the tournament, Vicky came on at half-time and proceeded to wow the spectators with some brilliant saves including one that was described as “a wonder save” to power Ontario to a 3-1 win over Manitoba.

 

In the second game, Vicky was again brilliant in recording the shutout over Saskatchewan in a 3-0 Ontario victory. As an underage player Vicky performed brilliantly, however, she was on the bench as Ontario powered to wins over Alberta and BC to successfully defend their title as Rocky Mountain Cup Champions for 2006. Vicky’s contribution to the championship was enormous!

 

The Academy is very proud to wish Vicky continued success as she now moves on to the final stage for selection to the Ontario Provincial Team for the National All-Star Tournament in July 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumni Finalists In St Thomas!

 

The Academy trained Erin Mills G92 Select team, featuring Academy Alumni Lindsay F., Arielle P., Melissa S., Lauren B. and guest player Caitlin R., finished as runners-up at the 14th Annual St. Thomas Select Tournament hosted by the St Thomas Soccer Club in the Girls U-14 division for 2006.

Academy Alumni Win The Robbie!

 

Academy Alumni Jacqueline L., Richelle G., Sheena G., Emily D., Nicole W. and Natasha G., all members of the Georgetown Mustangs G93 team, captured the prestigious Robbie Tournament Championship for 2006.

 

In the preliminary round, the Mustangs defeated London United Freedom, Clairlea-Westview and the Brams United Blast and defeated SRSL Elite rivals Kitchener in the semi-finals to set up a showdown against Scarborough United. In the finals the Mustangs defeated Scarborough 3-1 to win the championship after having finished as runner-up in 2005.

 

Congratulations to Jacqueline, Richelle, Sheena, Emily, Nicole, Natasha and the rest of the Mustangs players and coaches on becoming Robbie International Tournament Champions for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumni Champions At The NOSO Cup!

 

Academy Alumni Paige F., Diamond S., Kira B., Megan O., Amanda T. and Misha S., members of the North Mississauga Panthers G92 team, finished as Champions at the NOSO Cup in Ohio defeating the Cleveland Kickers 2-1 in the final.

 

In the preliminary round, the Panthers defeated the North Canton, NOSO Eagles and Cleveland Kickers by a combined score of 18-0 to advance to the final for a rematch with Cleveland.

 

Congratulations to Paige, Diamond, Kira, Megan, Amanda, Misha and the entire Panthers team for becoming Champions of the 2006 NOSO Cup tournament.

 

 

Academy Alumni Graduate with Honours!

 

The RedDevilsAcademy is pleased to announce that Academy Alumni Megan O. and Vicky C-P. graduated with honors at the annual Grade 8 Graduation ceremony at St. Catherine of Siena school on June 28.

 

Vicky was awarded the prestigious Mathematics prize and was also an Honours Diploma recipient, having maintained an academic grade average over 80%. Megan was honoured with the prestigious Female Athlete of the Year Award, having competed on the Basketball, Volleyball, Cross Country and Soccer teams for the third straight year.

 

Megan and Vicky will be attending St. MartinHigh School in Mississauga in the fall and the Academy staff wishes them continued success in their high school careers.

 

 

Academy Alumni Champions at St. Thomas Soccerfest!

 

Academy Alumni Daniella L., Evelyn E., Ashley S., Veronica P. and Danielle A., members of the Erin Mills Eagles 1993 B team, won the championship at the 30th Annual Soccerfest on St. Thomas, defeating the Southwest Optimists 1-0 the Championship game.

 

In the preliminary round, the Eagles defeated LaSalle, London United and Middlesex United to qualify for the semi-final where they defeated Mt.Hamilton 1-0 to advance to the Championship game.

The Academy trained Erin Mills G92 Select team, featuring Academy Alumni Lindsay F., Arielle P., Melissa S. and Lauren B., won the championship at the Muskoka Early Summer Tournament hosted by the Bracebridge Soccer Club in the Girls U-14 division for 2006, winning a narrow 1-0 decision over St. Catherine’s.

 

In the round-robin, the Eagles beat Owen Sound and North Toronto by identical 1-0 scores before defeating East Gwillimbury in the semi-final (also 1-0) to move on to the final against St. Catherine’s.

Academy AlumnusWinsRoseCity Championship!

 

Academy Alumnus Caitlin R., a member of the Erin Mills Girls Select U13 A team, won the 2006 Rose City U14 tournament in Welland, defeating St. Catherine’s 1-0 in the final. In 2005, the Erin Mills Select team were finalists in this tournament and this year played at a higher age level and finished as champions.

 

In the round-robin they defeated Pelham 1-0, Welland A 1-0, North Toronto 2-0 and tied Welland B 0-0, qualifying for the semi-finals where they defeated Niagara-on-the-Lake 1-0 to set up the final against St. Catherine’s.

 

Congratulations to Caitlin on winning the Rose City Tournament Championship for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumnus Wins Barrie Spiritfest Championship!

 

Academy Alumnus Victoria G. a member of the Georgetown Mustangs 1994 team won the Championship at the Barrie Spiritfest tournament after a thrilling 3-2 final victory over Sault Ste Marie.

 

In the preliminary round, the Mustangs won against Barrie B and North Dumfries and lost a close, but academic game against Etobicoke to set up a semi-final with pre-tournament favourite (and the tournament host team), Barrie A. In a close game, the Mustangs prevailed 2-1 to set up the final with the Soo. 

 

Congratulations to Victoria and the rest of the Mustang players and coaches on winning the Barrie Spiritfest Championship for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumni Finalists At The Border Stars Tournament!

 

Academy Alumni Paige F., Diamond S., Kira B., Megan O., Amanda T. and Misha S., members of the North Mississauga Panthers G92 team, finished as runner-up at the Windsor Border Stars tournament for the second consecutive year after losing in overtime to Michigan 2-1.

 

In the preliminary round, the Panthers defeated the Tecumseh Warriors, Michigan Gators and Caboto Azzuri by a combined score of 21-1 to advance to the final for a rematch with Michigan.

 

Congratulations to Paige, Diamond, Kira, Megan, Amanda, Misha and the entire Panthers team for an excellent showing in the 2006 Border Stars tournament.

 

 

Academy Alumni Finalists At The MIT!

 

Academy Alumni Jacqueline L., Richelle G., Sheena G., Emily D., Nicole W. and Natasha G., all members of the Georgetown Mustangs G93 team, finished as runners-up in the 2006 MIT, losing a close final to North Mississauga.

 

In the preliminary round, the Mustangs defeated Cumberland, York United and the Oakville Raiders and defeated the host Mississauga Falcons in the semi-finals to set the showdown with the Panthers.

Academy Alumni Win Oshawa Kicks Spring Classic!

 

Academy Alumni Ashlee S., Madison S. and Shannon L., members of the Ajax Storm 1992 team, captured the Oshawa Kicks Spring Classic Championship in the Girls U-14 division for 2006. The tournament, played on the first weekend of May, saw the Storm team repeat as Tournament Champions after a hard-fought group of games that resulted in a loss to Markham and wins over Dixie and the Ajax Warriors in the round-robin.

 

In the semi-final round, the Storm beat club rivals Ajax East Side Warriors 4-1 to advance to the championship game against the Windsor Eastside Kickers. In an exciting and entertaining contest, the Storm emerged as champions against the run of play after posting a 2-0 victory over Windsor.

 

Congratulations to Ashlee, Madison and Shannon on repeating as Oshawa Kicks Spring Classic Champions for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumni Finalists At Central West!

 

Academy Alumni Daniella L., Evelyn E., Ashley S. and Veronica P., members of the Erin Mills Eagles 1993 B team, finished as runners-up in the Central West Indoor League, narrowly losing to Bolton in the Championship game after a shootout.

Academy Alumni Semi-Finalists At Central West!

 

The Academy trained Erin Mills G92 Select team, featuring Academy Alumni Lindsay F., Caitlin R., Melissa S. and Lauren B., finished as semi-finalists at the Central West Indoor League in the Girls U-14 division for 2005-06, losing a narrow 1-0 decision to Bolton.

 

Congratulations to Lindsay, Caitlin, Melissa, Lauren and the rest of the Eagles players and coaches for an excellent showing in the 2005-06 winter league.

 

 

Alumni Win Oakville Indoor March Break Tournament!

 

Academy Alumni Paige F., Diamond S., Kira B., Amanda T. and Misha S., members of the North Mississauga Panthers G92 team, captured the 2006 Oakville Indoor March Break Tournament Championship after a comprehensive victory over North Mississauga Panthers B 3-0 in the Championship game. In the preliminary round, the Panthers defeated Toronto Eagles 3-1 and tied Niagara Falls 0-0 to advance to the semi-finals where they defeated Welland 1-0 to set up the All-Panthers final. All games in the tournament were played with an 11-a-side format and outdoor rules.

 

Congratulations to Paige, Diamond, Kira, Amanda, Misha and the entire Panthers team on becoming Oakville Indoor March Break Champions for 2006.

 

 

Academy Alumni win Indoor Ontario Cup!

 

Academy Alumni Ashlee S., Shannon L. and Madison S., members of the Ajax Storm 1992 team, captured the Ontario Indoor Cup Championship in the Girls U-14 division for 2005. The tournament played over two weekends saw the Storm team repeat as Ontario Indoor Cup Champions. In the semi-final round, the Storm beat club rivals Ajax Warriors 2-1 to advance to the championship game against the West Rouge Storm. In an exciting and entertaining contest, the Storm emerged as champions after posting a 1-0 victory over West Rouge.

 

Congratulations to Ashlee, Shannon and Madison on becoming Ontario Indoor Cup Champions for 2006.
