RDA ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS 2005:

 

 

Alumni Win Oakville Indoor Christmas Tournament!

 

Academy Alumni Paige F., Diamond S., Kira B., Amanda T. and Misha S., members of the North Mississauga Panthers G92 team, captured the 2005 Oakville Indoor Christmas Tournament Championship after defeating the OYSL bound Ajax Warriors 1-0 in the Championship game. In the preliminary round, the Panthers defeated Oakville 4-0, Flamborough 4-1 and Georgetown 4-0 to set up the anticipated match with the Warriors. All games in the tournament were played with an 11-a-side format and outdoor rules.

 

Congratulations to Paige, Diamond, Kira, Amanda, Misha and the entire Panthers team on becoming Oakville Indoor Christmas Champions for 2005.

 

Academy Alumnus makes Ontario Provincial Team!

 

The Red Devils Academyis pleased to announce that Academy Alumnus Vicky C-P. has been selected to train with the Provincial U14 squad in the third phase of the Provincial tryouts. At present, there are 2 Academy Alumni training with Provincial teams across Canada.

 

The Academy will continue to work with current Alumni who have been identified but were not selected in Phase 3. These players will be involved in the supplementary Provincial tryouts in 2006.

 

The Academy is very proud to wish Vicky continued success as she moves closer to her goal of making the Ontario Provincial Team for the National All-Star Tournament in July 2006.

 

Academy Alumni Selected in Provincial Squad!

 

The Red Devils Academyis pleased to announce that Academy Alumni Megan O., Vicky C-P. and Shannon L., members of the Durham Region 4 team (and all members of the Ajax Storm G92 team), have been selected to train with the Provincial U14 squad in the second phase of the Provincial tryouts. At present, there are 5 Academy Alumni training with Provincial teams across Canada.

Academy Alumni Win Eagle Cup!

 

Academy Alumni Paige F., Diamond S., Kira B. and Misha S., members of the North Mississauga Panthers G92 team, captured the 2005 Erin Mills Eagle Cup after defeating Niagara Falls 1-0 in the Championship game. In the preliminary round, the Panthers defeated Unionville 2-0, LaSalle 3-1 and tied Waterloo 1-1 before defeating the Dixie Dragons 4-3 in an epic semi-final game.

 

Congratulations to Paige, Diamond, Kira, Misha and the entire Panthers team on becoming Eagle Cup Champions for 2005.

 

Academy Alumni Win Division Championship!

 

Academy Alumni Daniella L., Evelyn E., Jocelyn P. and Veronica P., members of the Erin Mills Eagles 1993 B team, won the 2005 SRSL Division 1 League Championship, finishing with a record of 15 wins, 1 loss and 3 ties, securing promotion to the Premier Division for 2006.

 

Congratulations to Daniella, Evelyn, Jocelyn and Veronica; SRSL League Champions for 2005.

 

Mustangs win SRSL Premier Division League Championship!

 

The Academy trained Georgetown Mustangs G93 team, featuring Academy Alumni Jacqueline L., Richelle G. and Sheena G., captured the 2005 SRSL Premier Division League Championship and secured promotion to the SRSL Elite Division for the 2006 OYSL qualification year. The Mustangs finished with a record of 15 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie to win the championship over three division rivals.

 

Congratulations to Jacqueline, Richelle, Sheena and the rest of the Mustangs players and coaches for an excellent 2005 season.

 

Academy Alumni win Ontario Cup!

 

Academy Alumni Vicky C-P., Shannon L., Madison S. and Megan O., members of the Ajax Storm 1992 team, captured the Ontario Cup Championship in the Girls U-13 division for 2005 after defeating the Mississauga Falcons, featuring Academy Alumnus Ashlee S., 1-0 at the OSA Centre. The tournament, played over the last two months saw the Storm team win 7 straight games to capture the championship. The Storm won their group in the Tournament Round in Brantford, beat Oakville 3-1 in the Quarter-finals and York United 3-0 to advance to the Championship game.

 

Congratulations to Ashlee for making the finals and to Vicky, Shannon, Madison, Megan and the rest of the Storm team and coaches on becoming Ontario Cup Champions for 2005.

 

Academy Alumni Win League Cup Championship!

 

Academy Alumni Vicky C-P., Shannon L., Madison S. and Megan O., members of the Ajax Storm 1992 team, captured the CGSL League Cup Championship in the Girls U-13 division for 2005 by defeating the York United Cougars 4-1 in the final.

 

After receiving a bye in the first round, the Storm posted victories over Unionville (3-0) and Oshawa (3-1) to advance to the Championship game. The Storm have now won the League Cup Championship for the 2nd consecutive year and the 3rd time in 4 years.

 

Congratulations to Vicky, Shannon, Madison and Megan and the rest of the Storm players and coaches for becoming CGSL Premier League Cup Champions for 2005.

 

Academy Alumni Win League Championship!

 

Academy Alumni Vicky C-P., Shannon L., Madison S., and Megan O., members of the Ajax Storm 1992 team captured the CGSL League Championship in the Girls U-13 division for 2005. The Storm finished the season with a record of 17 wins and 1 loss, easily becoming the first team in Ontario to qualify to compete in the OYSL Provincial League in 2006.

 

The Storm have now won the League Championship for the 4th consecutive year and look forward to playing and competing with the best teams in the province in the OYSL in 2006.

 

Congratulations to Vicky, Shannon, Madison and Megan and the rest of the Storm players and coaches for becoming CGSL Premier League Champions for 2005.

 

Mustangs Runners-Up in League Cup!

 

The Academy trained Georgetown Mustangs G93 team, featuring Academy Alumni Jacqueline L., Richelle G. and Sheena G., finished as runners-up to the Brams United Blast in the SRSL Premier League Cup finals held on Saturday September 10, 2005.

 

After an exciting 2-2 draw that went to double overtime, the game was decided in Brams' favour by virtue of a shootout.

 

The Mustangs gave an impressive performance in winning the silver medal and congratulations go out to the team and coaches for an excellent League Cup run.

 

Mustangs win the OSCAR!

 

he Academy trained Georgetown Mustangs G93 team, featuring Academy Alumni Jacqueline L., Richelle G. and Sheena G., gave an impressive performance at the recently concluded OSCAR Tournament, winning their first Championship of 2005, defeating the London City Falcons in an exciting final.

 

The Mustangs went undefeated in tournament and semi-final play outscoring, their opposition 8-0 in the process.

 

Congratulations to Georgetown on becoming OSCAR Champions for 2005.

 

Vipers win the TSA League and Cup Championship!

 

The Academy trained Etobicoke Vipers G95 team, who beat the Toronto Eagles on August 24 to finish their season undefeated at 12 wins, 0 losses, 54 goals for and only 6 against, won the TSA U10 League Championship for 2005.

 

The League title completes the "double" for the team as they had previously defeated the North York Cosmos 5-1 on August 20th to win the TSA Cup Final.

 

Congratulations to all the girls and coaches for an excellent season!

 

Academy Alumnus makes Alberta Provincial Team!

 

From the St. Albert Soccer Association (Alberta) Website:

 

The St. Albert Soccer Association would like to congratulate the following St. Albert Players who were selected on the 2005 Alberta Provincial Team and wish them the best of luck in their competitions this summer.  These players will be competing at the highest level in Regional and National tournaments throughout the Country.

The U13 and U15 teams competed this past weekend in the Rocky Mountain Cup at RielPark. The following St. Albert players represented Alberta:

Academy Alumni Win in Ajax!

 

Academy Alumni Jocelyn P. and Veronica P., members of the Erin Mills Eagles 1993 B team, were crowned champions of the Ajax Soccer Club's annual tournament held on July 16 and 17 2005, after defeating the Bolton (North Oakville) Galaxy 1994 team in the final. The Eagles advanced to the championship game after posting wins over Aurora, Oshawa, Sudbury, Richmond Hill and Scarborough United, outscoring the opposition 14-2 in the process.

 

Congratulations to Veronica and Jocelyn on their first tournament win this season.

 

Mustangs Impress at The Robbie!

 

The Academy trained Georgetown Mustangs G93 team, featuring Academy Alumni Jacqueline L., Richelle G. and Sheena G., gave an impressive performance at the recently concluded Robbie Tournament, finishing as runners-up to the Brams United Blaze.

 

In the preliminary rounds, the Mustangs posted wins over Clairlea and London and tied Pickering to advance to the semi-final where they posted a 3-0 win over Erin Mills to advance to the final.

 

Congratulations to the Mustang team and coaches for a very fine soccer weekend.

 

Academy Trained School Teams Impress!

 

The Academy is extremely proud of the St. Catherine of Siena Junior and Intermediate soccer teams, who represented their school proudly at the recent Mississauga South School Tournament, held on June 9th and 10th 2005.

 

The Junior team advanced to the semi-finals of their tournament and was unfortunate to lose a shoot-out to St Luke after an entertaining and exciting 2-2 tie. The Intermediate team went undefeated in round-robin play and was unfortunate not to advance out of their group and into the semi-finals.

 

Congratulations on an excellent performance by all of the members of both teams.

 

The Academy is proud to be associated with the St. Catherine of Siena school and is extremely pleased to donate our time and resources to the school's soccer program. The Academy looks forward to continuing to build on past successes for the 2006 season.

 

Academy Alumni District Bound!

 

The Academy is extremely proud to announce that Academy Alumni Jacqueline L. and Richele G. are moving forward in the ID selection process for the Ontario Provincial Team. Jacqueline and Richele, both members of the Georgetown Mustangs 1993 team, have been selected for the Peel-Halton District tryouts after being identified at a recent tournament and team practice. 

 

Jacqueline and Richele have been training at the Academy since 2004 and have worked extremely hard to reach their current level of success.

 

All of the Academy staff, alumni and current trainees are extremely proud to wish both players continued success.

 

Academy Alumni Provincial Bound!

 

The Academy is extremely proud to announce that Academy Alumni Brittany B. and Megan O. are moving forward in the ID selection process for the Provincial Team. Brittany has been selected as a member of the Alberta Provincial Team after an outstanding performance at the recently concluded Provincial ID Tournament. (Alberta's Tournament is in May, Ontario's is in September). Megan has been selected by the Provincial coach to train with the U14 Provincial Team after an outstanding performance at the recently concluded OSA Regional Exhibition Tournament. 

Brittany and Megan have been training at the Academy since 2002 and have worked extremely hard over the last 3 years to reach their current level of success.

 

All of the Academy staff, alumni and current trainees are extremely proud of their accomplishments to date and wish them both continued success.

 

Academy Alumni Shine at OSA Regional Tournament!

 

Academy Alumni Madison S., Megan O., Vicky C-P. and Shannon L., members of the Durham Region 4 team (and all members of the Ajax Storm 1992 team), impressed at the recently concluded OSA Regional Tournament held at the OSA Centre from April 29-May 1 2005.

 

The spring tournament is a pre-cursor to the Provincial ID Tournament being held in October 2005 that will help select players to train with the Provincial program at U14.

 

The Academy is very proud to wish Madison, Megan, Vicky and Shannon continued success as they move closer to their goal of making the Ontario Provincial Team.

 

Academy Alumni Runners-Up in CW League!

 

Academy Alumni Kira B., Diamond S., Paige F. and Misha S., members of the North Mississauga Panthers A 1992 team, finished as runners-up in the Central West Indoor League Playoffs in the Girls U-14 division for 2005. The Panthers lost to Burlington in a shootout after playing to a 2-2 AET tie. 

 

Congratulations to Kira, Diamond, Paige and Misha on an excellent indoor season with the Panthers.

 

Academy Alumnus Runner-Up in League Cup!

 

Academy Alumnus Lindsay F., a member of the Erin Mills Eagles A 1993 team, finished as runners-up in the Downsview Park Indoor League Cup Championship in the Girls U-12 division for 2005. The Eagles lost to West Rouge in an amazing shootout that went to 15 shots!

 

Congratulations to Lindsay on an excellent indoor season with the Eagles.

 

Academy Alumnus Earns Referee Badge!

 

Academy Alumnus parent, Shawn Parsons, better known in forum circles as Goaldiver, has recently qualified as a referee and successfully completed his first assignment in an exhibition game at Iceland on April 16. The Academy staff wishes Shawn continued success in his challenging new endeavor as a "man in black".

 

Academy Alumnus Appointed as TD!

 

The Academy is very pleased to announce that one of our Alumni parents and Academy guest coach has added a new job to his portfolio. Congratulations to  Richard Greenwood on his recent appointment as Technical Director of Mini Soccer with the Brampton Youth Soccer Club.

 

Richard, a B License coach, has worked very hard to attain his new position at BYSC and the Academy Staff wish Richard the best success in his exciting and challenging new position.

 

Academy Alumnus Wins OISL Championship!

 

Academy Alumnus Ashlee S., a member of the Mississauga Falcons 1992 team, won the Ontario Indoor Soccer League Championship for the 2004-2005 season. 

 

Congratulations to Ashlee on winning the OISL Championship for the second consecutive year.

 

Academy Alumnus Wins OSA Tournament!

 

Academy Alumnus Ashlee S., a member of the Mississauga Falcons 1992 team, won the Championship at the OSA March Break Tournament after a 3-0 win over the Ancaster Titans in the final. The Falcons defeated Richmond Hill (2-0), Glen Shields (2-0) and Barrie (2-0) in the preliminary rounds and Erin Mills (3-1) in the semi-final to advance to the final against Ancaster. 

 

Congratulations to Ashlee on winning the 2005 OSA March Break Tournament Championship.

 

Academy Alumni Runners-Up At The DISC!

 

Academy Alumni Jacqueline L., Sheena G. and Richele G., members of the Georgetown Mustangs 1993 team, finished as Runners-Up to the London United Cyclone after a 1-0 defeat at the DurhamIndoorSoccerCenter's March Break Tournament held on March 12, 2005. The Mustangs defeated Whitby (2-0) and Peterborough (1-0) in the preliminary rounds to advance to the final against London. 

 

Congratulations to Jacqueline, Sheena, Richele and their team on a very fine performance.

 

 

Academy Alumnus wins Downsview Park League!

 

Academy Alumnus Lindsay F., a member of the Erin Mills Eagles A 1993 team, captured the Downsview Park Indoor League Championship in the Girls U-12 division for 2005. The Eagles finished with a record of 16 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie to win the Championship over the West Rouge Storm. 

 

Congratulations to Lindsay on winning the championship in her first season with the team.

 

Academy Alumni win Indoor Ontario Cup!

 

Academy Alumni Vicky C-P., Shannon L., Madison S. and Megan O., members of the Ajax Storm 1992 team, captured the Ontario Indoor Cup Championship in the Girls U-13 division for 2005.

 

The tournament, played over two weekends saw the Storm team win 8 straight games to capture the championship. In the semi-final round, the Storm beat Ottawa’s Gloucester Emerald 2-0 to advance to the championship game against the London City Flash. In an exciting and entertaining contest, the Storm emerged as champions after posting a 3-0 victory over the Flash.
